When it comes to learning a new language, the quality of instruction can make all the difference. That’s why I am committed to providing the highest quality of instruction to my students. With a rich background in education and a passion for teaching, I have the skills and experience to guide students on their language learning journey.
My Qualifications
My qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, with my learning further enriched by a study abroad program in Seville, Spain, where I immersed myself in Spanish literature, history, and civilization. I also hold an ESL Certification from National Louis University, where I achieved a perfect GPA of 4.0.
Bilingual and Culturally Aware
Being bilingual in English and Spanish, a skill honed through numerous study abroad and travel experiences, allows me to bring a unique perspective to my teaching, enriching my students’ learning experience. As I often say, “Language learning is not just about words and grammar, it’s about understanding and embracing different cultures.”
Teaching Experience and Philosophy
My teaching experience is extensive and varied. I have worked as a Spanish teacher in various settings, from high schools, to middle schools, to elementary, and even my own after-school enrichment program. Regardless of the setting, my teaching philosophy remains consistent.
In my teaching, I use a 5-part foundational philosophy to establish eventual fluency and incorporate a wide variety of technology and web-based programs for foreign language learning, but above all I believe in creating a positive and safe learning environment, keeping students engaged in the learning process, and communicating effectively with families about student progress.

Beyond the Classroom
As a Spanish teacher and softball coach at WCPSS Dillard Drive Middle School in Raleigh, NC, I not only created lessons and curriculum for grades 6-8 but also coached the middle school softball team, providing support and feedback to strengthen their skills in the sport.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have also held leadership roles in the PTA and have led multiple class trips to Spain. These experiences underscore my commitment to fostering a strong community and enriching the educational experience for my students.
